The Cost of Leadership

I. Training Objective: Count the cost of leadership and list what one is willing to pay.

II. Must pay a price.

A. Pay a greater price than contemporaries.
B. The greater the level of leadership, the greater
    the price of servanthood (II Corinthians 9:6,7)
C. Always paying; every day.  When payment
    stops leadership fades.  Even success will get
    old if you let it.

D. Mark 8:35 - We cannot save others and
    ourselves at the same time.

E. II Samuel 24:24 - An offering to God must cost
    something.

III. Payment in self-sacrifice.

A. Take up your cross (denial). Mark 8:34
B. Your are everyone's slave. Mark 10:45
C. Sacrifice personal preferences. Luke 9:59-62
D. Humility is the essence of leadership.

IV. Commitment payed in full.

A. Don't look back. Luke 9:62
B. Complete what you begin. II Corinthians 8:11
C. Every day you waste is gone forever!
    James 4:14
D. If you are gifted by God, there be many people
    wanting your time and allegiance.
E. God has paid in full. Romans 8:32
