The Purpose of Prayer

I. Training Objective: Pray daily and spontaneously.

II. Scripture: (Reasons to pray)

A. John 14:13 To glorify God.
B. Matthew 26:41 Our flesh is weak.
C. Matthew 9:37,38 For help in the work of the ministry.
D. Joshua 2:11 Puts the fear of God in people.
E. Matthew 7:7-11 Receive the best from God.
F. James 5:16,17 It brings results.
G. I Thessalonians 5:17 It is commanded.
H. Romans 8:26 Sometimes the spirit must pray in our place.
I. I Samuel 12:23 It is sin not to pray.

III. Practice:

A. Develop a prayer list.
B. Discuss "praying in Jesus name". John 14:14
C. Share your answers to prayer.
D. Ask him to share some answers to prayer.
E. Write out a "dream list" for prayer. (Ephesians 3:20)
