Intent of Overnight Guidelines:

Understanding the suspicious times in which we live, we need to establish some guidelines to oversee student (leadership) ministry staff involvement in overnights. These guidelines will protect students and staff from unnecessary questions:

1. All overnights are to be cleared with the pastor

2. The place, participants and plans will be specifically discussed at the time of meeting with the pastor.

3. At least two adults (parents or staff), same gender, must be present at the overnight. These adults (parents or staff) are not to separate into two groups or leave the overnight, leaving only one adult present.

4. No overnights are allowed on school nights.

5. Any movies or media used during the overnight must be approved by the pastor prior to the overnight.

6. No mischievous conduct (i.e. toilet papering, door bell ditching, late phone calls) is to be permitted. The staff people in attendance will be held responsible.

7. Sleeping arrangements will be in mass. Leadership/staff are not allowed to sleep in a room alone with a student. Leadership/staff are not allowed to share a bed with a student.

8. No one-on-one overnights. A minimum of four (4) students must be present. (Talk to pastor if there will be fewer than four students.)

9. No out of town trips with only one student.

10. All camps will be chaperoned by a pastor along with volunteer staff or a married leadership couple.
